Here is a Youtube link to a V-Twin model engine that I just finished. I used SolidWorks/Sprutcam2007 as the CadCam and a Tormach PCNC mill for the machining. I manually machined the cast iron pistons, cylinders, and rings on a lathe but the velocity stacks were done using the CNC lathe operations of Sprutcam. This was my first IC engine and its complexity was close to being beyond my capabilities. I spent probably 400-500 hours over the last year building it. It is a single pin crank engine with just under 2 cubic inches displacement. Instead of a distributor it uses dual Hall-effect triggered ignitions. The engine was designed by the late Jerry Howell and the plan set is available from his website Jerry-Howell.com. The transmission is purely cosmetic and is there just to give the engine something to turn. It also hides the out-of-scale ignition coils and there is a cavity in the rear which serves as the fuel tank. I'm running the engine in the video on methanol

Terry, thank you for posting this up. I love it! You must be well pleased with it. I wish that I had even half of your patience that you must have had to complete this........
Do you mind if I put a link to your video on my website?
It begs the questions, what's the next project?

Dave,
Your welcome to use the link in anyway you wish. I'm not sure about my next project. I was hoping the plan set for the Monitor (Civil War submarine) steam engine would be available by now, but until then I'm thinking about maybe a small V-8. Terry

Here is another photo of the bottom of the base that houses the electronic ignitions and fuel pump. There is a plexiglass plate over the bottom and the round black things in the corners are rubber feet.

Terry has also made a beautiful model of a Gatling gun. Maybe he can provide a link to that one too.
