I am trying to machine several pockets in the attached test file. SC refuses to machine the pockets using a spherical (ball-nose) bit without constant giving me "Gouge of the part" error. The gouge always happens on the very last pass of the toolpath. If I only change the geometry of the bit to square endmill I don't get any errors. Why would that be??

You had selected / set the 'Bottom level' but hadn't selected / set the 'Top level'. I have corrected this in the attached version.
