Greetings,

I am a new SprutCAM 8 user and have the following 2D Geometry related questions:

1) Is there a way to use the existing edges from the imported model/part to create 2D geometry?
Kind of like using the "Project" tool in Creo Parametric.

2) Is there a way to create center points from circular features from the imported model/part to create 2D geometry?
Similar to using a circle as a "Reference" in Creo Parametric.

Thank you for your help.

Chachin..

Hi Chachin, welcome to the SprutCAM user forum.

I am not familiar with Creo Parameteric, but to answer your questions:

1) Yes, you can import edges and convert them to 2D Geometry. Select the required 'edges' in 2D Geometry mode, then click the 'Import curve from model' button which will recreate the selected edges as 2D Geometry.

2) Yes, you should use the SprutCAM 'Smart snap' function which enables the selecting of features of an existing model which includes hole centres, vertices, ends etc.

I hope this helps?

Dave
