 Auto Deburring |

Anyone know how to turn off automatic deburring in SprutCam? It machines in areas where I do not wan't it to go thinking it's removing sharp edges and sometimes it's not. Short of manually changing the code has anyone else delt with this issue? Pete Bachert

Hi Pete, I'm not sure which function you are referring to as Automatic deburring.........can you give a bit more info, or, provide an example project which shows the problem?

Dave Dave, Sprutcam creates a toolpath that goes around the corner instead of straight off the part like it's trying to remove the sharp edges left by the cutter. It does this on waterline and flat land finishing operations. I would like the path to go straight off the part, not around the backside of the part I'm making. I am having the same issue. I want to side mill a end of a block to clean up extra stock, to bring it to size. The block is square but the tool path is wanting to wrap around the edges of the block. I'd rather see a straight A to B path and retract, rather then having the lead in/out arcs. Am i using a wrong operation?

Hi LRG, and welcome to the SprutCAM forum.
There is a function for solving this problem which can be found under 'Trimming', it's called 'Trim rolls'. When machining simple 2D parts like this you can very often get a lot better control over the machining process by using 2D strategies. In the attached modified version of your project I have used '2D Contouring' to machine the part. I haven't applied any speeds / feeds etc. I hope this gives you some idea's. Dave
