There is the Sew button at the 3D Model tab of the SprutCAM window. By clicking on this button one can stitch part faces together while introducing the part edges and part vertices into the geometry model.

The operations supporting edges and edges chains in the job assignment include all the operations that use curve entities as the main job assignment feature. To those operation belong the Engraving, the 2D Contouring, the Tool-end 5D Machining operation, turning operations and others. Edges can be also added as fixtures to any milling operation.
Using edges in a job assignment of milling operations is the easiest way to produce simple pockets, slots and other 2d curved features. You can also use edges in a 2.5D Milling operation.

1.1. Move to the 3D Model tab
1.2. Activate the geometry model folder with the part faces.
1.3. Press the Sew button. The Sew dialog appears while the part edges as well as the part vertices are highlighted in the view area. You can change the Sew tolerance if there are many unstitched faces in the part. Unstitched edges are colored puple.
1.4. Press OK. The edges have to be added into the part folder. These entities are invisible in the tree for the convenience of work, but it is possible to pick them from the view while the Edges and Vertices buttons at the Filters toolbar are checked.

2. How to use part edges in a 2D Contouring operation.

2.1. Sew the part faces.
2.2. Create a new 2D Contouring operation.
2.3. Adjust the machine tool setup. Set the appropriate tool axis orientation, select the appropriate Workpiece Coordinate system.
2.4. Unfold the operation tree. Select the Job Assignment item.
2.5. Ensure the edges filter is turned on. Select the edges chain of a pocket or of a boss while holding the Ctrl Key on the keyboard.
2.6. Press Add Curve button. The Edges should be added to the job assignment.

Best regards. Enjoy the work! wink.gif
